Things to Know:
Do not eat, drink, smoke, chew gum or candy after midnight OR 8 hours PRIOR to surgery.
You will need to have someone drive you home after your procedure. Get a lot of rest the night before surgery and wear comfortable clothing the day of surgery.
You will have a post-op visit with Dr. Le at his office approximately one week after surgery. It is extremely important that you do NOT miss this appointment. If you need to reschedule, please call our office at 972-747-4271.
Your post-op medications will be sent to your local pharmacy that we have on file by the morning of surgery. If you want to use a different pharmacy, please be sure to notify us BEFORE your scheduled surgery day to avoid delays in getting your prescriptions. You or your caretaker should check with your pharmacy before heading there to make sure the prescriptions are ready for pick up. If the pharmacy has not received an order, call our office immediately at 972-747-4271.
Our surgery coordinator will call you to go over your healthcare benefits and any cost associated with the surgeon's fee. Please note that there is a separate fee for the surgery center and anesthesiologist. Payment for surgery to our office is due in full at minimum 48 hours prior to surgery. It is ultimately the patient's responsibility to assure that the surgeon, surgery center, and anesthesia is IN-NETWORK with your insurance.
You will need to be at surgery center registration at your arrival time with your ID, Insurance card, and co-payment (if any) to the surgery center.
A provider from the surgery center and/or anesthesiology group may be calling you before surgery and go over your medications and answer questions you may have.
If you take any blood thinners (i.e. Aspirin, Plavix, Coumadin, Xarelto, etc), a Cardiac or Medical Clearance should have been made to provide instructions on when to stop your blood thinner if necessary BEFORE your procedure, with that prescribing doctor.
You will receive a phone call from our office the day BEFORE your procedure to confirm your surgery time as the surgery time may have changed.
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your procedure for any reason, please call Dr. Le's office as well as the surgery center as soon as possible. Please give us at least a 48 hour notice if possible.
Please plan plenty of time for your post-op visit. It is possible that you will be referred to Physical Therapy for a splint or immediate treatment.
Care of wound: Be sure to keep your wound area clean and dry and follow post-op instructions given. Please do not hesitate to call our office for any concerns you have.
